WHY PHYSICIANS ARE TESTIFIING TO THE UNIQUE BENEFITS OF THE OPEN-UPRIGHT MRI

"Technology and research continues to advance at a very fast pace in the medical field.  This current information leads me to believe that positional MRI (Upright) will help the doctors to better diagnose conditions that are unimpressive on static MRI studies.  This tool will allow the Chiropractic and Medical profession to better diagnose the patient’s cases when there is a positional pain component to their presentation.  The comparison views of recumbent to uprights of the spine will open the doors on some of our most difficult cases.  I would expect the same great service to be experienced by the doctor and patient at SF Open-Upright MRI as we received at SF Open MRI."

Sioux Falls Open Upright MRI is Accredited by the American College of Radiology to ensure accurate and professional diagnostic imaging. We are conveniently located just west of 69th and Louise avenue and offer state-of-the-art Open Upright MRI technology. The Open Upright MRI scanner allows patients to be evaluated in position their symptoms are most severe. Those positions include sitting, standing, lying down, flexion, extension or in rotation. The Open Upright MRI is ideal for patients with continuing back pain, or who are claustrophobic or oversized.

Here at Sioux Falls Open-Upright MRI, we take great pride in providing our patients with one of the newest imaging technologies available. With the Fonar Upright(TM) MRI, we are able to scan patients in multiple positions to ensure we are scanning the patient in the position their symptoms are most severe. Those positions include the weight bearing positions of standing and sitting down. We can also scan patients while lying down or in flexion or extension (see images above). Another important feature of the Fonar Upright(TM) MRI is that the patient is never enclosed and is always facing the open air in front of them, eliminating nearly any chance of claustrophobic related symptoms. The patient can even watch television while being scanned!
